19 Jan Places to meet at ICE
On the 3rd of February, the betting world gathers for the largest B2B gaming exhibition in the world, ICE Totally Gaming. The products available make this a must attend event if you are a regulator, supplier, operator or professional gambler.
Because of the size of the exhibition, you might have to jump a few hurdles but over the next few weeks, we will give you some tips to make life easier for you during the exhibition.
Today we will look at places to have your private meetings during the course of the exhibition.
Most exhibitors will not have too much time to discuss the finer details of their product at their stand, so make sure you book a meeting with them away from their stand.
It’s always best to meet somewhere quiet and out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the exhibition. The Fox @ ExCeL is the closest pub to the exhibition hall and is on the ExCeL London site. It is quite large, so there is usually a table available while ICE is open. However, in the first 2-3 hours after ICE has closed for the day this pub is always very busy, with a lot of the exhibitors going for a “cheeky pint”. The Fox @ ExCeL is a traditional British pub that offers free Wi-Fi as well as great food and a wide selection of drinks (open 12pm – 11pm).
Another good meeting place is La Barrique, a wine bar located right beside The Fox @ ExCeL. Their opening hours (7am – 11pm) allow the early risers amongst us to get their meetings done early in the morning, allowing them to spend the rest of the day roaming the exhibition hall itself. The lobby of the Aloft Hotel is also quite popular for meetings. The Hotel is right beside the exhibition hall and has a restaurant and bar with a waterside terrace.
Sometimes it’s best to get away from the exhibition altogether and there are a few nice pubs around the ExCeL Centre which are a good place to meet. A short (15 min) tube journey away from ExCeL is Canary Wharf, where you will find a wide range of bars and restaurants and is close to the Skrill offices too, if you would like to visit them. The most noticeable is All Bar One, which can be seen as soon as you leave the Canary Wharf tube station. They offer food and drink and their opening hours (8am – 11pm) can cater for an early morning meeting.
Of course there are many more restaurants and bars around the ExCeL, but these are the ones that we find are most popular.
