In an environment where constant change and improvements flourish – there are many more new outcomes on the horizon. All of which seem very interesting.
Firstly, long-time rivals Ladbrokes and Gala Coral are set to merge and become ‘Ladbrokes Coral’. Terms have been agreed and their future relies heavily on catching up with online growth and expanding their digital presence. Could it be the end of the highstreet shop?
Next, there’s the bid battle for bwin.party. Just to give you a catch up, GVC Holdings were in top position to take over, that is until 888 stepped into the ring. The popular online gaming entertainment provider, 888, are the preferred bidder – but it has to get past all the shareholders. GVC are looking to counter, it’ll be interesting to see what happens next.
And lastly on the newswire, Unibet has successfully acquired Stan James. This makes the Nordic conglomerate a serious contender in the UK market. No fun merged names here though, Unibet will continue to operate Stan James as is.
